This trip combines sightseeing in Nepal’s vibrant cities of Kathmandu, Chitwan, and Pokhara with thrilling outdoor activities like white-water rafting, canoeing, trekking, and a jungle safari in the country’s oldest national park.

Description

The journey begins in Kathmandu, where you explore stunning World Heritage Sites and experience the bustling capital city of Nepal. The adventure continues with an exciting white-water rafting trip on the Trishuli River, known for its spectacular gorges, thrilling rapids, and peaceful natural scenery.

Next, you travel to Chitwan National Park for an unforgettable jungle safari. Here, you can enjoy canoeing, observe diverse wildlife, and watch traditional Tharu cultural dances, offering a deep insight into Nepalese heritage.

From Chitwan, you head to Pokhara, a picturesque lakeside city that serves as the gateway to the Himalayas. The trekking portion of the trip covers iconic locations such as Ghandruk, Tadapani, Ghorepani, and traditional Gurung settlements. A highlight of the trek is reaching Poon Hill, where panoramic views of the Himalayan ranges leave travelers awe-inspired.

After descending from Poon Hill, you return to Pokhara to explore its serene lakes, vibrant city life, and nightlife. Finally, the trip concludes with a drive back to Kathmandu, ending your Himalaya Highlights adventure.

Itinerary

Arrival at Kathmandu (1,400 m) and transfer to hotel.
Morning Yoga & Guided Sightseeing around Kathmandu Valley. Overnight at a Hotel.
Drive to Charaudi (492 m) for – 2 to 3 hour Rafting at the Trishuli River – 2 to 3 hours. Head Over to Chitwan (415 m) – 3 to 4 hours. Overnight at a Hotel.
Activities in Chitwan National Park. Overnight at a Hotel.
Drive to Pokhara (900 m) – 5 to 6 hours. Overnight at a Hotel.
Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul (1,070 m)– 1 to 2 hour. Trek to Ghandruk (1,940 m) – 4 to 5 hour. Overnight at a Guest House.
Trek to Tadapani (2,630 m) – 5 to 6 hours. Overnight at a Guesthouse.
Trek to Ghorepani (2,860 m) – 6 to 7 hours. Overnight at a Guesthouse.
Early Morning Hike to Poonhill (3,193 m) and Trek Down to Ulleri (1,960 m) – 5 to 6 hours. Overnight at a Guest House.
Trek Down to Nayapul (1,070 m)– 4 to 5 hours. Drive Back to Pokhara – 2 to 3 hours. Overnight at a Hotel.

The Cost Includes

The following items are included in your Himalaya Highlights Trip package to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience:

Accommodation

  • Twin-sharing or double accommodation in a 3-star hotel in Kathmandu and Pokhara for 3 nights each, including breakfast. Private room accommodation can be arranged at an extra cost.
  • Twin-sharing or dormitory guesthouse accommodation during the trek in the Annapurna region for 4 nights.
  • Double or twin-sharing accommodation in a resort in Chitwan for 2 nights, including Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.

Meals & Drinking Water

  • All standard meals during the trek (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner) including seasonal fruits.
  • A farewell dinner on the last night in Nepal.
  • Purified drinking water during the trek using water filters or water purification tablets.

Activities and Tours

  • Guided city tours in Kathmandu, Chitwan, and Pokhara by private tourist vehicle.

The Cost Excludes

The following items are not included in the Himalaya Highlights Trip package and should be arranged separately:

  • Meals (lunch and dinner) in Kathmandu and Pokhara.
  • International flight fare and airport departure tax.
  • Nepal Entry Visa. Visas can be obtained upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport: USD 30 for 15 days, USD 50 for 30 days, and USD 125 for 90 days.
  • Travel insurance including high-altitude emergency evacuation coverage.
  • Any beverages including bottled or boiled water outside the trekking meals.
  • Tips for trekking staff, guides, porters, and drivers.
  • Personal trekking gear and equipment not listed in the “Price Includes” section.
  • Any other expenses not specifically mentioned in the “Price Includes” section.

Required Equipments

Here is a recommended packing list for the Himalaya Highlights Trek. This list is a starting point, and you should adjust according to your personal needs and the season. We provide a 75-liter duffel bag during your pre-trip meeting in Kathmandu, which is yours to keep. Sleeping bags and down jackets are available for rent at an additional fee of USD 25 each.
