Description

The trek begins with a 30 to 45-minute drive from Kathmandu to Dada Gaun, where hikers embark on a steep uphill climb toward Chisapani. The journey through serene natural surroundings makes it ideal for experienced hikers, jungle walkers, and bird watchers. The sounds of rustling leaves and chirping birds provide a calming and immersive nature experience.

After approximately 8 to 9 hours of trekking, you will reach Chisapani, where panoramic Himalayan views reward your efforts. It is recommended to carry snacks, energy bars, and drinking water for sustenance during this long day. The trek concludes with a 4 to 5-hour descent to Sundarijal, followed by a 50 to 60-minute drive back to your hotel.

Itinerary

Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu (1,400 m) and transfer to hotel. Overnight at a Hotel.
Early-morning drive to Dada Gaun – 30 to 45 minutes. Trek to Chisapani (2,215 m) from Dada Gaun – 8 to 9 hours. Overnight at a Guesthouse.
Trek to Sundarijal (1,460 m) from Chisapani – 3 to 4 hours and Drive back to the hotel – 50 to 60 minutes. Farewell dinner in the evening. Overnight at a Hotel.
Transfer to the International Airport for Your Final Departure.

Meals & Drinking Water

  • All standard meals during the trek (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner) including one hot drink per meal and seasonal fresh fruits.
  • A farewell dinner on the last night in Nepal, allowing you to celebrate the completion of your trek with fellow travelers.

Transportation

  • Porters during the trek to carry luggage (1 porter for every 2 clients), allowing trekkers to enjoy the journey comfortably without the burden of heavy bags.

The Cost Excludes

  • Meals (lunch and dinner) in Kathmandu and Pokhara.
  • International flight fare and airport departure taxes.
  • Nepal Entry Visa. Visas can be easily obtained upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu: USD 30 for 15 days, USD 50 for 30 days, and USD 125 for 90 days.
  • Travel insurance, including coverage for high-altitude emergency evacuation and medical expenses.
  • Any beverages including bottled or boiled water outside of the trekking meals.
  • Tips for trekking staff, guides, porters, and drivers.
  • Personal trekking gear and equipment not listed in the “Price Includes” section.

Required Equipments

Here is a suggested packing list for the Shivapuri-Chisapani Trek. This is a starting point; you may need additional layers during the winter. A 75-liter duffel bag will be provided during your pre-trip meeting in Kathmandu. You can also rent a down jacket in Kathmandu for an additional USD 25.
